A utility that converts from the POV-Ray files of protein structures generated by Accelrys DS Visualizer into LScripts that regenerate the model within Newtek LightWave.

The models are ordinary LightWave objects, so are fully editable in Modeler, and can be animated in Layout. There are options to automatically colour the ribbon models using separate surfaces for each colour, using vertex colour maps, or a mixture of both. The options are controlled using a simple Windows user interface.

Left: The crystal structure of the Zif268 protein, from PDB ID 1AAY (Elrod-Erickson et al.), rendered with LightWave. The structure was retrieved from the PDB, and the initial model made with DS Visualizer, with the "solid ribbon" and "rings" options used for protein and DNA respectively.

The software is still under development.
